Functional Braille Assessment
for Adults - 2005

TRACKING LINES:
1.  Uses two hands, light touch, curled fingers
2.  Finds beginning and end of each line
3.  Moves fingers from left to right
4.  Moves fingers from top to bottom
5.  Detects breaks in lines
6.  Tracks double spaced lines with fluidity
7.  Tracks single spaced lines with fluidity
8.  Tracks with both hands together, retraces line with hands together, and
     drops hands to next line together

BEGINNING RECOGNITION:
1.
     Tracks across a line and finds a symbol
2.
     Identifies one symbol different in a line
3.
     Identifies Braille symbols as same or different

USE OF THE BRAILLE WRITER:

     Can find and identify parts of the Perkins Braille Writer:
